Nike Flywire installation

August 14, 2008

Nike Flywire Technology is a revolutionary lightweight support system that redefines footwear construction. By shaving off weight and adding strength, it allows athletes to be lighter on their feet and faster on the court.

For the launch in Jakarta, Indonesia, designer/graffiti artist Darbotz has been given a chance to make an installation based on Flywire Technology.

“…The Flywire concept inspires me to create an installation about the flowing movement of the shoes. The explosion shows the strength of the shoes, and their lightness is represented by feelings of blaze, brightness, luminescence, radiance, and emptiness. That has made it possible to express fathomless and fluid movement.

I have presented this idea using a wood structure, wires, and dynamic movement of spray paint, which represents my signature style…”

Renewable clothing – Fernando Brízio

June 30, 2008

By placing colored felt-tip pens in the pockets of the dress its appearance changes over time.
within an hour – to one and a half hours the colored ink bleeds into the fabric and creates a one-off design
for each occasion. The owner can then clean the dress and color it in a different way for each time they wear it.

“Teacake is something quintessentially British, inventive and conscientious. We love visual organisation, people, places and creating a tangible interaction with those who see our work. This has subsequently led to us having a strong affiliation with design for print and a passionate obsession with typography and identity. Humour, irony and visual puns embody our work and we have developed a strong interest in copy writing.”
